FRIENDSHIP |
PROJECT 81. Define which techniques you tried and mastered? Struggled?
The techniques that I tried, was drawing with Prisma color pencils, I struggled with face proportions as there were several people I this piece, and I couldn't just focus on one person , I had to get everyones face right but it was hard with many people. I feel that I'm mastering adding layers as it feels easier now, as I struggled adding the layer because it wouldn't show on the paper. I tried using water color again and I'm feeling more confident with the medium. I tried adding value with watercolor. 2. How did you draw inspiration from other artists techniques or aesthetics in your work? In what ways did you derive meaning or gain historical perspectives from their work? Why these artists? I didn't really drive from inspiration from other artist as I did a portrait of my friends and wanted it to be something that shows my appreciation for my friends 3. Describe the evolution of your piece. Decisions made. Compositional elements. I knew I wanted to do a piece about friendship but I didn't know how I was going to do it. I told some of my friends to send me pictures of themselves. I used photoshop to position them where I wanted them to be. I looked up what flowers represent friendship and yellow roses was the thing that came up. I photoshopped the flowers behind all my friends. I printed out the photoshop picture and began my rough sketch. The rough drawing took me a while because of all the faces and it began to be really challenging. I had to rush the piece because it was taking forever and the deadline was coming up. I had to rush the coloring so that is why the coloring didn't come out good and also the flowers where rushed and that is why I chose watercolor because it is a medium because it drys fast. 4. If you could consider doing something over, explain why you would do this and what you would do next time? . I would fit some of the faces and layer some go the colors a little bit more and I would also fix the hair of some of my friends because it didn't Come out the best. 5.Elaborate on how this piece links with your other pieces? What is the common thread? this fits my common thread that I wanted to have friends that have helped me so much and that has shaped my personality, and have shaped my identity in many different ways. |
