LAS OPINIONES DE LA COMUNIDAD LATINX |
PROJECT 41. Define which techniques you tried and mastered? Struggled?
The techniques that I tried was editing and it was interesting as I was exploring a new form of art. I struggled with video files as they would become corrupt or the entire video that I edited did not want to cooperate and would become corrupt at the last minute and I would have to turn in a video that I am not satisfied with. I feel as though I didn't really master anything as I struggled a lot but I was able to learn about many different things. 2. How did you draw inspiration from other artists techniques or aesthetics in your work? In what ways did you derive meaning or gain historical perspectives from their work? Why these artists? I was inspired many of the video's about the Chicano's living in the United States and having a disconnect with both of their backgrounds. I wanted to reach out to my local Latinx community and wanted to get their opinions. I gaining historical knowledge about the issues within the Latinx community and what is the change that is needed. 3. Describe the evolution of your piece. Decisions made. Compositional elements. When creating this piece I wanted the video's to be all cohesive although when they were filmed some viedo's were vertical and I didn't pay attention on how the video would look like aesthetically. I wanted the subject of the video to be in the middle thirds, although the subjects would move often and would change their position compositionally. Another aspect of videography is the lighting and the lighting would change many times and having the lighting be consent would change the overall aesthetic and cohesiveness of the video. There were many aspects of videography that I did not take into account and would change many things with in the Video and make the vied cohesive. I also tried to correct the color of the video and found that changing it a little bit would make the video appear different. I tried to add a tint to the video, just like my photo series although it did not look appealing as some of the videos had different color scheme and would look weird if I changed it slightly. 4. If you could consider doing something over, explain why you would do this and what you would do next time? I would not have many of the files to become corrupt and have all the videos that where taken match the aesthetic go the video. 5.Elaborate on how this piece links with your other pieces? What is the common thread? this piece connects with my other pieces as it shows culture why getting the opinions of the Latinx community and brings their issues to the forefront and get people knowledgeable about the issues. |
